Jerome G. Rozen, Jr. (Jerry) is currently a Curator at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He received his B.A. from the University of Kansas and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. Dr. Rozen has served as a USDA Entomologist at the Smithsonian Institution; as Assistant Professor at Ohio State University; and as Associate Curator and Chairman of the Entomology Department at the American Museum of Natural History and subsequently as Curator there. He was appointed Deputy Director for Research of the American Museum of Natural History, administratively responsible for the scientific programs of the institution for 15 years. He also served as Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York; Collaborator at the Carl Hayden Bee Research Center, USDA-ARS in Tucson; and Museum Associate at the KU Natural History Museum and Biodiversity Research Center, Lawrence, KS. He co-organized the Bee Course at the Southwest Research Station and taught the workshop for the past eight years. He has researched and published more than 120 papers dealing mostly with the evolution, systematics, biology, and immature stages of bees worldwide.
